Argentina
The
Federal Institute for the Grape-growing and Wine making Industry
in Argentina (INV) reported that
in March, 2008 the income of wines and musts
export sales reached an amount of 51,618, 610
American dollars, which means a growth of 10.62%
over the previous year same month
The total amount of exports during the accounted month, added
up to 380,552.60 hl, with an increase of
14,15% over the same month in 2007.
The
75.47 % of the sales of 20 wine cellars
was exported to 90 countries.
The
January- March cumulate volume was of 1,284,009.80
hectoliters, which represents an increase by 22.64%
over the previous year same period. The currency income during
that period was of 168,936,950 American dollars,
which represents an increase by 29.44%.
Chile
In May this year, the total amount of Chilean wines exports
experienced a drop of 17%, totaling 47
million liters. Meanwhile, the value of wine shipments
during the month of May increased by 10%
amounting 120 million American dollars.
According to the Chilean Wine Corporation (CCV),
during the first five months of the year, 237 million
liters of wine were shipped, which means a decrease
by a 3%, compared to the previous
January- May period
Also,
during the period January- March the exports rose by 14%
as compared to the same period of the previous year, reaching
a total amount of 532 million American dollars.
In the case of bottled wine, 33 million liters
were exported in May, with a drop of 1% as compared to last
year. In value, however, the shipment of bottled wine increased
12%, totaling 106 millions American dollars
