The exports of Chilean wines increased .

They grew 4,4 % in volume and 6.6 % in income in the first seven months of the year.

SANTIAGO. - The exports of Chilean wines grew 4,4 % in volume and 6.6 % in income in the first seven months of the year, below equal space of 2005. In absolute numbers, the shipments were 154 million liters and the returns for 433 million dollars, according to Wines of Chile.

According to the organisation, the number accumulated in the last 12 months presents a fall in the volume of 6,1 % and an increase in the value of 1,9 %.

The trend of last 12 mobile months is kept, being last seven months relatively stablly in volume and slightly increasing in value.

As for the bulk, in July his behavior was positive in volume (10,6 %) and negative in value (-5,9 %), with regard to the same month of the previous year.

The number accumulated in the year comes to 71 million liters and to 51 million dollars,-1,6 % in volume and-3,4 % in value, with regard to equal period of the previous year.

The accumulated one to 12 months shows also a negative trend of-15,3 % and-4,7 %, which is translated in a volume accumulated of 125 million liters and 94 million dollars.

Both principal markets of destiny of the jammed solid wine are the United Kingdom and The United States. The first one acquired 3,9 million boxes of wine for a value of 78,6 million dollars. The price average was 20,25 dollars for box.

On the other hand, though it continues being the second principal destiny, a different scene presents the USA that to the date takes a decrease of 9,3 % in volume and of 3 % in value, which takes it to a value accumulated of 3 million boxes and 80 million dollars. The price reached average is 24,94 dollars for box.

" We hope that this positive trend in the exports is kept and that it is achieved, in the medium term, to recapture the levels of growth of the previous years. Though the existing conditions are highly competitive and the exchange unfavorable conditions, the sector as everything must work as a whole (cluster) in favor of his your major development ", commented Ricardo Letelier, General Manager of Wines of Chile.
